Making a Difference in the Lives of Children
The vision of the Children’s Ministry at the Church of Christ at The Colonies is to offer a Christ-centered, nurturing environment for children and their families that will encourage a lifelong relationship with God, as well as instill leadership qualities in the church of tomorrow.
We believe children are a precious gift from God. As a church family, we are committed to the development of children, not only physically and emotionally, but most importantly, spiritually.
We believe in the importance of relationships: nurturing relationships with adults, friendships with peers, and a loving connection with God the Father. Most of all we believe in making a difference in the lives of children
The Nursery has loving caretakers during all worship and Bible class times for infants and toddlers up to 2 years. Your child’s comfort and safety are our primary concern.
We believe that children benefit from a special worship environment that is designed for their age. We also believe that worship as a family is important. Children learn from seeing their parents sing, pray and worship God. That is why our children’s worship begins in the auditorium with the adults.
Before the sermon begins, children ages 3 years through 2nd Grade are invited to Children’s Church in a separate room. This worship time includes singing, crafts, a Bible story and much more. This allows parents a special time to focus on the sermon uninterrupted.
Older children can participate in the adult worship through an activity sheet found on the tables as you enter the building. Games, puzzles and scriptures offer children a message on a level they can understand.
Bible classes are offered for all children birth through 4th grade.
The focus of Bible classes is building a relationship with God through the study of His Word, the Bible. Fun, excitement and friends can be found in Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Bible classes.
