The purpose of The Colonies Youth Ministry is to grow students into disciples of Christ whose lives are built on a strong Biblical foundation with a faith they continue to live out and grow as adults.
Our Theme Verse: Jeremiah 1:5-8
5“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
6“Alas, Sovereign LORD,” I said, “I do not know how to speak’ I am too young.”
7But the LORD said to me, ” Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD.
We try to fulfill our purpose by following 5 key objectives:
Examine Biblically
Students will see through specific Chapters and Character studies in scripture how God has designed a plan for their unique lives to transform them into the character of Jesus.
Grow Spiritually
Students will develop practices through scripture to deepen their relationship with God and learn how to build a stronger faith in Him.
Connect Relationally
Through scripture, students will learn how to navigate through the complexities of building relationships in family and community.
Faith in Action
Students will learn how to make faith-based choices when dealing with everyday situations in hopes to prove their understanding and love of the Lord.
Serve Actively
Students will see in scripture how God has created them to participate with Him in restoring a broken world through acts of compassion and service in the Church and community.
